It’s a gallery art show and sale hosted by the Art in Nature™ Art Guild a community outreach program part of the non-profit Sanctuary on the Trail™ in partnership with the community center Barns of Rose Hill in Berryville VA. Q2. Who sets the price? A2. Artists set their own prices. |

Q3. What is the commission rate?
A3. Artists retain 60% of the sales, the community center retains 40% and the Sanctuary on the Trail, as administrator, receives the $20 registration fee which is used to help bring The Gathering, a separate event this fall.
Q4. How many pieces per artist?
A4. Each artist may submit 3 pieces for consideration. It expected the first artists to register will be accepted.
Q5. How many pieces are accepted.
A5. Due to limited space, we must limit submissions to 88 pieces.
Q6. What is the age limit to participate?
A6. We are accepting applications from artists ages 12 -120.
Q7. What is the objective?
A7. The object is to feature art that explores the facets of Three Sisters and educate visitors about Native American agri-culture. In Native American culture, the Three Sisters represent agricultural treasures of maize (corn), pole beans and winter squash (or gourds). The artwork does not have to depict the actual plants, but the spirit of what three powerful things mean to you. The Three Sisters Regional Art Show and Sale is a unique art challenge that kicks off 2015 Native American Heritage Month and is a preview for a related event called “The Gathering” being held at the Clarke County Fairgrounds in Berryville VA Oct. 30 - Nov. 1.

The Categories are practically unlimited and are listed online: Painting – Drawing – Printmaking – Photography – Digital Art – Video – Recorded Music – Dried Gourd – Sculpture – Ceramics – Pottery – Fibers – Woodwork – Mixed Media – Tattoo Art – Basketry – Poetry; (also Natural Material, Seed etc.)
Q9. Is there an artist reception?
A9. Yes. Artists participating in the 2015 show and sale, are invited to the artist reception Oct. 17. The artist reception is a historic event. The artist reception is free and open to the public. Several programs occur around the artist reception on Oct. 17 including a documentary matinee and lecture by Dennis Banks co-founder of the American Indian Movement, followed by dinner and live concert by Native American Indian rocky soul band Dark Water Rising that evening. Tickets for the other shows are on sale now at www.barnsofrosehill.org.

Oct. 2 - Tues. Oct. 14 and submit your $20 registration online, in person or via postal mail to Sanctuary on the Trail PO Box 123 Bluemont VA 20135.
